7 Reasons Why I’d Rather Be At Soar Mill Cove

Two weeks after we temporarily closed our doors, and whilst the country is on lockdown, we can’t help but dream about being at Soar Mill Cove. Walking the South West Coast Path, relaxing in the spa and indulging in delicious local seafood – this is what we as a family and team are so passionate about, it’s what we call coastal bliss!

So, take a read of our top 7 reasons why we’d rather be at Soar Mill Cove, and start planning your next South Devon staycation – we can’t wait to welcome you.

  1. Walk the South West Coast Path

If like us, you can’t wait to get back to enjoying the great outdoors, we really can’t think of a better location than Soar Mill Cove, perfectly positioned to take on arguably the most picturesque stretch of the South West Coast Path. Grab your boots, we’ll supply the maps and a picnic too!

  1. Discover self-care

The art of self-care is all part of the Soar Mill Cove experience. The Discovery Spa allows you to unwind whilst enjoying a prescriptive selection of treatments, featuring the results-driven product range from Temple Spa courtesy of our professional, friendly therapists.

  1. Comfort is key

Enjoy every comfort and luxury you could want from the perfect holiday or mini break. We have flexible family suites, self-catering villas perfect for celebrations and romantic secluded suites for couples. Our seaside chic rooms offer crisp cotton sheets, Devon Duvets, Hypnos mattresses, Clipper teas & coffee and luxurious Molton Brown toiletries. And your much-loved dog (or two) is welcome too!

  1. Soar Social

Raise a glass with our Soar Social; our daily cocktail hour from 5-6pm featuring some interesting ‘SMC’ combinations, plus a few favourites. The perfect way to wind down the day, chat with fellow guests or toast holiday moments with a classic Jenny’s Gin and tonic.

  1. Eat local, eat seasonal

Our head chef Ian McDonald is passionate for fresh, locally sourced, seasonal food, it’s what makes our restaurant the place to tuck into Devon’s larder! Indulge in hake, lobster, Salcombe Crab, West Country beef and more. Ian’s exceptional talents have won us two rosette awards, and ensures that everything from children’s high teas to fine dining tempts every taste.

  1. Sunset snaps

We have done our share of travelling, but nothing really beats a Soar Mill Cove sunset. Don’t believe us?… Visit in October when the sun sets right in the middle of the bay – they really are quite legendary.

  1. Dive in!

A dip in our spring-fed, saltwater swimming pool is a must! It is heated to a balmy 86° and lets you gently restore body and soul, or of course if you are feeling brave you might prefer a wild swim at the cove.

Soar Mill Cove isn’t going anywhere, so whilst we look forward to welcoming you back at our family-run hotel when the time is right, for the time being… stay home, stay safe.
